7 p.m. at ISLAND COUNTY MULTI-PURPOSE CENTER. Today’s topic: Companion Plants and Healthy Gardens. Learn natural ways to prevent or lessen pest and disease problems in your garden. Skagit County Master Gardener Rae Barto will share plant combinations, polyculture, and other science-based practices for a healthier garden based on research by horticultural scientists such as Dr. Linda Chalker-Scott and Dr. Je  Gillman.
