Canopy Tours Northwest

332 NE Camano Dr

Pay: $17.13 - $19.00 per hour

Please read the full job description before applying.

Join the Canopy Tours Northwest team on our forest zipline course in the heart of Camano Island. Our training sessions begin February 2026 , with possible additional sessions available through June 2026.

Canopy Tours Northwest is hiring Zipline Tour Guides for the 2026 season. As a guide, you’ll lead groups of 6–12 guests through our 6-line forest course, facilitating not just safe adventure — but a high-quality, personal guest experience that blends nature, challenge, and hospitality.

This is a physically demanding, high-responsibility role for people who thrive outdoors, enjoy working in teams, and are committed to safety, communication, and guest service. Our guides manage gear, operate to ACCT (Association for Challenge Course Technology) standards, perform safety checks, and respond to on-course scenarios with professionalism. This is not a passive “ride operator” position — it’s a trained, hands-on guiding role.

What We’re Looking For

Must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in Washington
Strong communication, public speaking, and situational awareness skills
Comfortable with heights and able to remain calm under pressure
Willing and able to give and receive feedback respectfully
Interest in forest ecology or outdoor education is a plus
Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to showing up consistently (especially summer peak)
Helpful but not required: experience with outdoor education, facilitation, or wilderness first aid– but we will train the right person
Prior challenge course or zipline experience is not required! Many of our strongest team members come in with a fresh mindset and a strong willingness to learn. We value consistency, curiosity, and a commitment to accountability and growth
Physical & Safety Requirements

Guides must be able to:

Climb stairs and ladders
Move safely in tight quarters on platforms with guests
Hike forest trails between platforms in variable weather
Lift and carry 30+ lbs of gear
Work outdoors in rain, heat, and uneven terrain
Due to industry safety standards and equipment certifications, all guides must meet the same physical requirements as guests to participate in training, gear use, and rescue procedures. These are non-negotiable and based on manufacturer and insurance requirements.

Minimum height: 48 inches
Minimum weight: 65 lbs
Maximum weight: 280 lbs
Availability Requirements

Minimum availability: 2 consistent days/week
Preferred: 3–5 days/week during summer peak
Must be available for assigned training sessions (approx. 60-70 hours total) over 2–3 weeks
Weekend and holiday availability strongly preferred
Full-time and part-time positions available
Pay & Benefits

$17.13/hr during paid training (gear provided)
$19.00/hr+ after successfully completing training
Shared guide tips (typically $2–$6/hr, not guaranteed)
Employee discount + 1 free zipline tour for you and a guest per season
